Assessment

Claremont McKenna College is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.

The Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) is one of six regional associations that accredit public and private schools, colleges, and universities in the United States, and is an institutional accrediting body recognized by the Council on Postsecondary Education and the United States Department of Education.

The College has recently completed its periodic reaffirmation of accreditation by the Accrediting Commission for Senior Colleges and Universities.

The College's Institutional Proposal for Reaffirmation of Accreditation was approved as submitted to the Accrediting Commission in June 2007.

Our Capacity and Preparatory Review (CPR) was completed in June 2009, and we hosted the CPR Visiting Team in October 2009.

The CMC Assessment Committee completed two cycles of assessing overall student learning, and all academic departments have completed the initial cycle of assessments of our majors.

Our Educational Effectiveness Report (EER) was submitted to WASC in June 2011. As with the CPR, we hosted an EER Visiting Team, which occurred in November 2011.

In June 2012, the College was informed that its accreditation has been reaffirmed.
