Israel Studies Program

Summer 2013

Next summer you have the opportunity to spend four weeks conducting archaeological fieldwork in Israel. You can be part of an international team of scholars and students who will be excavating Tel Akko, an ancient site located on the shore of the Mediterranean Sea in Northern Israel. Students are housed on the campus of the Israeli Nautical Academy in the historic and culturally diverse city of Akko, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the process you will learn about the rich history of the city, analyze ancient artifacts, study conservation techniques, and have possibly one of the best summer experiences of your life. There is also an opportunity to receive academic credit.
