Student Research Analysts - Summer 2009

Raghav Dhawan '10
Raghav is a dual Mathematics-Economics major at CMC. He also plans to complete the Financial Economics Sequence. Born in Kolkata, India, Raghav has also lived in Hong Kong and Los Angeles. As a junior, he spent his fall semester abroad in Budapest, Hungary in a mathematics program. Raghav spent his last summer at home, in India, working with a microfinance investment group. He is unsure of his future plans.


Noah Franz '10
Noah Franz is a senior at Claremont McKenna College pursuing a degree in Economics with the Financial Economics Sequence. He is considering the Robert Day School's Masters of Finance program. In addition to working at the FEI this summer, Noah is researching equity and fixed income markets for his high school's endowment. During the academic year, Noah trains regularly for the Track and Field team as a hammer, shot put, and discus thrower. Noah is currently in the middle of completing his Private Pilot's license and also plans on obtaining his instrument rating.


Hannah Gregg '12
Hannah Gregg is from Minneapolis, Minnesota and is a sophomore at CMC. She is majoring in Economics and planning on completing the Finance Sequence. During her freshman year, Hannah worked at the FEI and was a student intern with the CMC Public Affairs Office. Hannah is currently a research assistant for Prof. Henrik Cronqvist, and working at the FEI this summer.


Wunna Hlaing '10
A true finance enthusiast, Wunna Hlaing will graduate from Claremont McKenna College in the spring of 2010 with an Economics major and the Financial Economics Sequence. Born and raised in Myanmar (Burma), Wunna transferred to CMC in fall 2008 after spending two years at a liberal arts college in Missouri. He has had serious work experience with one of the largest construction firms in Myanmar as well as a local Myanmar branch office of Kanematsu Corp., based in Tokyo, Japan. Wunna plans to apply for the new Master's Program in Finance at the Robert Day School and hopes to work in the finance sector after graduation, preferably in asset management and private equity sector.


Jennifer Volk '10
Jennifer is a junior at CMC majoring in Economics and planning on completing the Financial Economics Sequence. She is from San Mateo, California and is a graduate of Menlo School in Atherton, California. In addition to working at the FEI, Jennifer is a member of the Mock Trial team. During the fall semester of her junior year, she will be continuing her education abroad in Brisbane, Australia at University of Queensland. After graduation, she is hoping to pursue a career in consulting and earn her MBA.


Scott Yingling '11
Scott is a junior at CMC majoring in Econ-Accounting and plans to complete the Financial Economics Sequence. He is originally from Round Lake, Illinois and is a graduate of Carmel Catholic High School in Mundelein, Illinois. In addition to working at the FEI this year, Scott participated in the Summer Leadership Adventure Program for PwC at the downtown Chicago office. He plays quarterback for the CMS football team, and after graduation he plans to pursue an MBA or other master's degree, as well as a career in accounting, finance, or other business related field.


Eric Zacharias '10
Eric is a junior at CMC, double majoring in Mathematics and Economics with the Finance Sequence. Raised in San Diego, Eric is an avid sports fan and a member of the Claremont Men's Lacrosse Team. The past summer he interned with Waddell & Reed Financial Advisors as well as with the San Diego State Research Foundation's Technology Transfer Office in San Diego. After graduation, Eric plans to pursue a career in investment banking or asset management and hopes to remain in Southern California.
