Visa Requirements

If you are accepted to the College, then a Form I-20 (for F-1 Student Visa) will be issued by Claremont McKenna College upon receipt of both the $500 (U.S. Dollars) commitment deposit and the Claremont McKenna College Financial Certification Form to prove your individual (or your family's) ability to pay for educational and living expenses while in the U.S. The I-20, a valid passport, and documented proof of financial support must be presented to the Visa Counselor at the American Consulate before a Student Visa (F-l) can be issued. A foreign student advisor is available on campus to help you with immigration procedures and regulations once you arrive in the U.S.

Students holding F-1 immigration status who are currently enrolled in another U.S. school must inform their current international student advisor of their intent to enroll at Claremont McKenna College and request that their SEVIS record be transferred to Claremont McKenna College. Once the SEVIS record has been transferred to CMC, you will be issued your new CMC I-20. When requesting your SEVIS transfer, please us the CMC SEVIS School Code.
