2019 Excellence, Innovation, and Technology Summit
The 2019 summit will feature a number of outstanding CMC faculty members who will share their perspectives and experiences about Academic Advising, Technology Across the Liberal Arts, and Inclusive Teaching.
The first panel "CMC Faculty Do Data Science” will discuss the Data Science sequence that offers students a foundation in the principles and application of data science, deepening familiarity with the types of tools used for data science, and the capacity to use data to handle real-world problems. This panel will feature Shana Levin, Manfred Keil, Daniel Michon and, Findley Finseth.
In “Experiential Learning In and Beyond the Classroom,” our panelists will share the importance and benefits –and potential pitfalls – of asking students to learn through doing, that is, by experiential learning. This panel will feature Emily Wiley, Zachary Courser, Emily Pears, and Heather Ferguson.
The third and last panel concerns “Innovative Teaching and Learning with Technology in the Classroom” This panel will present the use of various new technologies such as 3D augmented reality, 3D printing and interaction with 3D visualizations. The final panel will feature Cynthia Humes, Babak Sanii, and Alison Harris.
