Student Opportunities

We encourage all students with an interest in economics to participate in the programs of the Lowe Institute of Political Economy. Our programs include: Baker-Lowe Scholarship, faculty-student research projects, and a public lecture series at the Athenaeum and academic conferences.

The Lowe Institute of Political Economy is looking for student research analysts for the upcoming academic year. The students will work closely with faculty members at CMC.  Specific responsibilities include preparing and analyzing databases, programming, web site management, and administrative work for the Institute.  In addition, students will be involved with faculty on a variety of empirically-based research projects.

Students are expected to work between 5 and 10 hours per week. Wages range from $8.00 - $10.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Applicants should complete and submit the application with a 1) cover letter, 2) resume, 3) one page, analytical, writing sample and 4) an unofficial transcript (transcript not required for incoming freshmen).
